4th of July Parade

The City of New Berlin’s 4th of July Parade is a time-honored tradition that brings together our community in a jubilant celebration of independence, unity, and local pride. This year marked the New Berlin High Schools Alumni Foundation’s second year of participation in this grand event, and it was a day filled with fun, excitement, and a deep sense of community spirit.

The foundation’s presence at the parade was a delightful sight to behold. Members of the Board of Directors, along with enthusiastic volunteers, gathered early to decorate the truck and trailer that would carry the foundation’s banner through the streets. Vibrant red, white, and blue decorations adorned the vehicle, creating a festive and patriotic display that perfectly captured the spirit of the day.

Leading the charge were Chris and Jone, who proudly carried signs promoting the foundation’s ongoing online auction. Their bright smiles and energetic demeanor drew the attention of many parade-goers, sparking interest in the foundation’s mission and the exciting auction items up for bid. The online auction, which runs from July 1st to July 31st, is a crucial fundraising effort aimed at supporting scholarships for students pursuing vocational and technical education.

As the decorated truck and trailer made heir way along the parade route, Gary, Peggy, and Pete took on the joyful task of distributing candy to the eager youngsters lining the streets. With bags brimming with sweet treats, they brought smiles to countless faces, embodying the foundation’s commitment to fostering joy and goodwill within the community. The sight of children scrambling to catch the tossed candies was heartwarming and served as a reminder of the simple pleasures and cherished memories that community events like this bring to life.

The participation in the parade also provided a valuable opportunity for the foundation to connect with the community and raise awareness about its mission. The New Berlin High Schools Alumni Foundation is dedicated to supporting students who wish to attend vocational or technical schools or enter into apprenticeship programs. By participating in the parade, the foundation not only celebrated Independence Day but also highlighted the importance of providing educational opportunities that align with the diverse needs and aspirations of our students.

The camaraderie and teamwork displayed by the foundation’s members were truly inspiring. From the meticulous decoration of the truck and trailer to the enthusiastic distribution of candy, every effort was a testament to the dedication and passion that drives the foundation’s work. The Board of Directors and volunteers exemplified the spirit of giving back to the community, demonstrating that the foundation’s commitment extends beyond scholarship funds to actively engaging with and uplifting the community they serve.

As the parade concluded and the last pieces of candy were distributed, the New Berlin High Schools Alumni Foundation members gathered to reflect on the day’s events. The shared laughter, the excited chatter of children, and the enthusiastic support from parade-goers all contributed to a sense of accomplishment and pride. It was a day that encapsulated the essence of community spirit, reminding everyone involved of the power of coming together for a common cause.

Looking ahead, the foundation remains committed to its mission of supporting educational opportunities for New Berlin’s students.
